A United Airlines flight operating from Phoenix, AZ landed in Chicago, IL amid a report of a tire issue on 22 April 2024.

United Airlines flight UA1363, operated by a Boeing 737-900ER, was inbound to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) from Phoenix.

The flight crew reportedly experienced a possible tire issue. Reports are all unclear as to exactly which stage of the flight the issue was identified.

A CAA statement issued on 22 April 2024 has confirmed the incident. “United Airlines Flight 1363 landed safely at Chicago O’Hare International Airport around 8 p.m. local time on Monday, April 22, after the crew reported a possible tire issue.”

” The Boeing 737 departed from Portland International Airport in Oregon. The FAA will investigate”

The CAA statement notably lists the origin airport as Portland International Airport.

Available flight data shows that United flight UA1363 made an on-time departure out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) on 22 April.

From a departure time of 1447 local time, the flight then proceeded normally en route to Chicago. The aircraft climbed to cruising level FL350 (35,000 feet) for the East-West service.

The aircraft let down and approach procedures all appear to be normal and landing was conducted from the standard approach.

The flight crew maintained normal operating procedures and did not declare a formal emergency.

The aircraft conducting the scheduled UA1363 service into Chicago O’Hare (ORD) was a Boeing 737-900ER, registered N61886.

This is an 8.8-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the US carrier United Airlines. The aircraft has been in service with the airline since its original delivery in July 2015.
